I understand it is now 4 and 8 because of the air bag.

To allow clearance for the air bag to deploy if necessary.
disconnect the battery and wait 5 minutes. Remove the air bag and disconnect any electrical connectors to the horn buttons or cruise control switches. Remove the 15mm bolt that holds the steering whell to the steering shaft. Partially reinstall the 15mm bolt and use a 2 jaw puller at the 12 oclock and 6 oclock positions to press against the bolt and break the wheel loose from the shaft. Once it has broken free, you can remove the puller and the 15mm blt and the wheel should lift off.
No. Steering wheel should stay stationary (in place), your seat belt should hold you back, the airbag should deploy, and the crumple zones on the exterior of the car should soften the blow.
It used to be at 2 o'clock and 10 o'clock but with the air bags in the steering wheel they now recommend 3'oclock and 12 o'clock. It's 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock.
Deploy what
if you mean when installing a timing chain, the keyway or square notch should be at 12 oclock and the mark should be at 3 oclock
Airbags deploy at up to 300 km/hr.
8:00 oclock
i would recommend the deploy but if you like submachine guns i would go with the barricade
SRS (Supplimental Restraint System) aka Airbags dont have a set speed that they deploy... They deploy when jolted hard enough or have been strucked in an impact.
The minimum speed set by the government for airbags to deploy is 25 mph. The 2007 PT Cruiser should have the airbags deploy at this rate of speed or less. It also depends on the type of collision, when the airbags will deploy.
