When you have LimeWire can other people get into what you are doing while downloading something?

Not if you set it up properly. The person or people who you are downloading whatever from can see that you are downloading it and can stop you, but they can't control or access your computer apart from that. Anybody can access the files which you have set the be "shared." To see and change which files are shared, press tools -> options -> sharing and you'll see a list of folders. Anything in these folders can be accessed (but not changed or deleted). By default, Limewire shares your My Music folder and will also ask to search your computer for other shareable files. I would not recommend this, but instead keep one or two folders that you use only for sharing things on Limewire and do not keep confidential or personal files in them. To be sure others cannot access your system, it's a good idea to keep Windows updated and to use a firewall. I have linked this FAQ to others on those subjects.

First, LimeWire is not illegal to download. It`s just p2p program.Second, all of the songs are not stored in a main host, its shared between the users. If you are downloading song, you are not downloading from the limewire server, you are doing it from users that accepted to share that song.For that, the LimeWire software is legal but it is illegal for the individuals to share copyrighted material such as music, videos and software. LimeWire should only be used for sharing the material that you have created yourself as stated in the LimeWire user agreement....The Program, like all peer-to-peer ("P2P") programs, is capable of being used to share materials that the copyright owner has not authorized be shared. What happened to limewire?
limewire is in a lot of trouble for doing or helping with the sharing of illegal downloads to music, videos, ebooks, etc. if you have visited it recently there is a legal court notice that blocks anyone from using the site. the limewire team have mentioned about making something new but in the mean time you can use frostwire, which is a tacky rip-off of limewire. its similar to limewire but not as good. it also doesnt have as much variety of songs. (but lets hope limewire makes something new). Thee new 1 is called " grooveshark"

What is illegal downloading?
Taking something and using it when it is copyrighted. Like taking a song from youtube that isn't the original copy and recopying it from youtube to a cd, it's downloading it when you can buy the original copy. TS, using it puplicly and not for private use only. I wouldn't recommend doing it though.
