When air is heated, more kenitic energy is transfered to the airs particles. The particles then begin to move and vibrate more, and expand outward. This produces hot air, which rises because it has a lower density (more spread out particles) then the cooler air that surrounds it. Thus, it rises.
It becomes less dense.
Heated matter tends to rise because it is less dense than cooler matter. This is due to the fact that warmer air molecules have more energy, and thus tend to move around and spread out. Cooler air does not move around so much, having less energy, and therefore will be more closely packed, or more dense. Because of this higher density, it will sink through the more loosely-spaced warm air particles and displace them. This results in warm air rising above cooler air.
Particles spread out and move rapidly due to the increase in temperature. Movement of particles is dependent on temperature...not the other way around.

Energy or the heat amount can make changes in matter because when particles are heated energy causes the particles to vibrate. Vibration defines weather something is liquid, solid or gas. Lots of vibration makes the particles to spread. So if something starts of solid and is heated it will melt into a liquid and if heated more will turn into a gas from the amount of vibration and energy.
The gas particles will spread out to encompass the entire volume of the container. The particles are constantly in motion and will run into the walls of the container creating pressure (basically). If heated, the particles will move faster, and slower if cooled.
When particles are heated up they gain energy. This causes them to move more and spread out. This causes the volume to increase and the density to decrease.
In a solid, the particles are tightly packed and do not move around much, as opposed to a liquid or gas, in which the particles are more spread out.
Ghee melts on heating because when ghee is cold it is solid and the kinetic energy is less so the particles are situated closer and when heated the particles of matter spread and the interrmollecular force increases as the intermollecular force is more in liquids the ghee changes to liquid or melts.
