ADDITIONAL ANSWER: The person who answered this before me is technically correct. But another way to see into the past is just to look up at the night sky. Every star that you see is actually in the past. This is because light takes time to travel across the vast distance of space. Even the light that we see from our Sun is 8 minutes in the past.
