The body can replace damaged neurons, but not through mitosis of other neurons. There are cells that can differentiate called neuroblasts, however. These cells can become neurons and glial cells, I'm not certain if they can differentiate with characteristics of other nervous system tissues. I read a lot and I have Aspergers , but I don't have any sources. Check my info, tell me if I'm wrong.
