Women's bodies are not always perfect and bra sizes go by standard sizes. To find the best fitting bra, you would:

  • measure the circumference of the chest wall; lift the breasts so the tape measure sits right below the breast tissue, and
  • measure the circumference by putting the tape measure at an even level around the back and directly on top of your nipples.

Note: Some women have asymmetrical or lopsided breasts, one slightly bigger in the cup.

You might want to be professionally fitted at a bra shop, then use those measurements to buy Bras at your preferred store.

What size bras for twelve year olds?

Rather than guessing at the size, get a tape measure. You will take two measurements. First measure under the bust over the ribcage. This figure is the band size. Next measure the widest part of the bust. The difference in these two measurements is the cup size. If it is two inches or less, then go buy a stretch bra in the band size. More than two inches becomes cup sizes. For a complete sizing tutorial go to www.OneHanesPlace.com. It's not the age, it's the physical proportions. or..... it just depend on your boobies. 32A to 34A or 36A in kids....

How do you measure bra size after a breast augmentation?

Bra size is measured after a breast augmentation by: measuring one's band size while breathing out with a tape measure just underneath the breast, measure the cup size by wrapping the tape loosely around the fullest part of the bust, and subtract the band size from the bust size, the difference is the cup size. so A=1, B=2, C=3 and so on. One can also get fitted in stores like: Marks and Spencer, Victoria Secret, JC Penny's.

How do you measure yourself for a bra?

BRA MEASURING INSTRUCTIONSTry measuring in front of a mirror or with help from someone. Measure once with your bra on and once without and use the average. Most women that go to get fitted are wearing an ill-fitting bra which compresses their bust and increases their high bust. So these skewed measurements are used to find a new bra which still does not fit.AREAS TO MEASURE:Full Bust - measure around the fullest part of your bust over the bust points (nipples) without pulling the tape too tight.High Bust - measure above your breasts at the underarm level.Ribcage - measure directly under the breasts and pull the tape snug.DETERMINING YOUR SIZE:Band Size: subtract two inches from your high bust, or take your ribcage and add two. Round to the nearest even size like 38 or 40.Cup Size: subtract your band size from your full bust. Every inch equals one cup; 0 = AA, 1 = A, 2 = B, 3 = C, 4 = D, 5 = DD/E, 6 = DDD/F, 7 = G, 8 = H, 9 = I, 10 = J, 11 = K, L = 12, M = 13, N = 14, O = 15, etc.Source: Stef the Bra-Maker / "The Bra-Maker's Handbook"
