When mixing colors then amount of each component determines the outcome.
If you were to mix equal parts blue and yellow you would get green,
If you were to mix two parts blue to one part yellow you would get a blue-green.
If however you mix two parts yellow and one part blue you would get a yellow green.

If you mix equal parts of the primary colors Yellow and Blue, you will get the secondary color Green. If you mix 2 parts Yellow and 1 part Blue, you will get the tertiary color Yellow-green. If you mix 2 parts Blue and 1 part Yellow, you will get the tertiary color Blue-green.
Yellow is a primary colour, as are red & blue Purple is a secondary colour, the result of mixing red & blue. If you mix Yellow and purple together you will get some form of brown depending on the quantity and intensity of the yellow & purple.

Yellow Sorry, you would have to extract the yellow from green to get blue. Blue is a primary colour, it is not possibler to mix for it.
