yes, you my need to change the fuel filter, but I would check with a professional to be sure. Because there are three good reasons why that would happen. Does the oil need changing, is their water in the gasoline tank, is the gas in the car made for the engine type? their my even be more resons why too.
Possibly a very plugged up fuel filter.
You're getting too much gas.
If the engine idles ok but dies when you press the gas pedal, check the operation of the choke and throttle baffles, that the fuel filter is not clogged, and that the fuel pump is operatong correctly. If everything checks out ok, then the problem is emmissions related (possible clogged catalyctic converter, muffler, etc).
Immediate possibilities that come to mind - - no fuel flow (or insufficient flow) to the engine. Check for clogged fuel filter or a bad fuel pump.
I just dealt with this, it is 3 things, your Throttle position sensor, your map sensor, and the fuel pump,
You might have to change your fuel filter.
Change the fuel filter before you go any further.
Might be a clogged fuel filter. Change the filter. Then do a fuel volume check to see if the pump is working properly.
what kind of car is it
no i do not think that it could be the fuel filter, because the filter would choak the fuel compleatly out or mak it run like it is running out of fuel. the filter could be located under the body on the frame possible under the cab. possible spark plugs, or coil/distributor and could there be a leak in the vacuume system?
If it isn't showing any codes (check the computer using a code scanner) I'd be suspicious of air and/or fuel filter.
Most dies now use a standard thread, so you can use different brands of dies with different brands of presses. I use RCBS, Lyman and Dillon dies in a Lee press.
