Cannot seem to get the air to flow throught the vents top or bottom. I have replaced the faulty blend door actuator loctaed on the side of the unit, but still no air or anything. Question: some one said that the openings have to be reset in order for the actuator to work, is this true? I do remember hearing a mechanic say that the way the original actuator came out is how the new actuator is supposed to go in. Please advice. Troy
most likely a vacuum leak or faulty control on the dash
Broken blend air door/actuator....replaced many of them
With vehicle warmed up and running feel both heater hoses with your hands. If one hose is hot and the other is cold or luke warm, the heater core is plugged. Flushing the heater core should help. If both heater hoses are hot, the temp blend door actuator behind the dash may be broken in which case the entire dash assembly would have to be removed to repair/replace the temp blend door actuator.
you need to replace the blend door actuator located on heater box above gas pedal, a little to the right . it will have a electrical connector attached to it.
Check the heater hoses on the right side of the engine. If one hose is hot and the other is not , you might have a blocked heater core. Or the blend door actuator might not be operating correctly.
If the switch on the passenger door itself still works, it is a switching problem within the relay box. If the local door switch does not work, it is either a circuit problem at the actuator, or the actuator itself (that lifts the lock) is broken. None of these is a simple repair -- although the actuator is just a mechanical device, it does require opening up the door to replace. With any luck, a computer diagnostic may show that it is a wiring flaw.
Could be, low on coolant, faulty thermostat, plugged heater core, faulty temp blend door actuator.
Suspect a plugged up heater core then.See "Related Questions" below for more
you need to check the blend doorA more common problem is the actuator motor that controls the door itself.A quick and easy, and not too expensive of a repair.See "Related Questions" below for much more about diagnosing no-heat problems on Windstars.
Uninstall and then reinstall the mouse driver. If after that you still have a problem, replace your mouse.
You have confirmed the 2 primary culprits:The heater core is clear - checked by feeling the heater hoses and both are hot (the coolant flows through the core at all timesThe temperature blend door actuator motor is turning and operating the temperature blend door *shaft*One thing I would focus on next is that the temperature blend door itself is moving - not just the shaft, but the whole thing. These have been known to break.See "Related Questions" below for more about the door.
