The word you're looking for is 'oath' - For example, when giving evidence in a British court, you are expected to swear an oath that you will answer truthfully. Unless you're not a Christian, the oath would be something like "I swear by Almighty God that the evidence I shall give will be the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth."
