When you try to highlight something just after you turn your computer on why does it some times get stuck?

This trait is more common with slower computers. What tends to happen, is that although you can see your desktop, there are actually still a number of things in the process of loading. These other things are likely to be given a higher priority than your action as a lot of it is necessary before the system can function correctly. Something that can make a noticeable difference in time, is reducing (if you have any) the number of applications that are started automatically.
