They don't get paid by Wiki. However, my work is real slack and when I'm not busy I sit here and answer questions. So in a sense, I suppose I do get paid to answer these questions.
Yes, during the training period you will be paid a small amount of money for the work you will be doing in return. Now, not all companies are accustomed to doing this in these tough times, therefore you should be lucky if you are paid for training with any firm, and even with Georgia Pacific. Good luck,
Ballymena! Go there, get some pizza
Safety training should be done on paid time, whether normal hours or overtime is usually up to the employer. Other kinds of training of days off may be required by your employer depending on the kind of your that is done. If you want to keep that job, you may have to accept the off-hours training. But that depends also on the labor laws of the country and the state or province in which you work. In the USA, any activity required by the employer is paid work, including training, even on-line training.

So i work at a independent pub in the UK. They have said when i come in for training i wont be paid. But they will order pizzas and have a few drinks when we finish. But this is not happening. I also do not view my work as training. It is making spreadsheets of the items we sell and the prices we sell it as. Something that i think most people would be able to do. This training has come about because they are getting a new till system and this information has to be down to program it. The only thing they have taught me in the four days i have been in has been how to work out the Gross profit percentage of each drink we sell. In my opinion i don't see this as training and more my managers cant be bothered to do the spreadsheets themselves so getting people lower than them to do it. Should i ask to be paid for the hours i've done. Is it illegal for them not to pay me for the work if they have expected me to come in even though its not on the rota? Ive seen someone be fired for not coming in when its not been on the rota before...
