These have zero collector value, little practical utility & are widely recognized as a self-destructing POS. We had one in that era & schlepped-it off rite quickly - it was always falling apart during use !!
The following company,s made the M-1 carbine for the united States from 1941-1945 in which 6,500,000 were made.Underwood,S.G.Saginaw,Quality Hardware,National Postal Meter,IBM,Standard Products,Inland division of General Motors,Saginaw Steering Gear(Grand Rapids),Winchester,Irwin Peterson,and Rockola.
They were made in many companies, Winchester made many of them, Springfield made alot, and so did Underwood, Plainfield, Inland and Remmington.
Don't forget Rockola, the jukebox maker!

Are you referring to the M1 Garand, or the M1 carbine? A Garand can go anywhere from $500 to over $1000, all things dependent. An M1 carbine, generally, you'd be looking in the $400 - $700 range.
