You need at least two devices connected by some type of media to create a LAN. Most LANs would have a distance limitation of not more than 100 meters apart. Other than that, the computer could be placed anywhere within that distance to the other device to create the LAN.
Well, LAN means multiple computers are wired to a router that connects to the internet. So, you would need to place the computers so the Ethernet cord can be connected to the router
There sometimes are "Wake on LAN" parameters that can be set in BIOS which will boot a connected computer if the LAN card receives a command.
If a LAN network is set up and both the computer and the laptop are connected to it, and to each other the dota gaming is possible.
The size of a LAN is set by the type of LAN configuration and specifications
Ethernet is a set of protocols to establish a LAN.
Network installation may actually refer to a couple of things: -The creation and set up of a local area network (LAN) -The installation of an operating system (OS), or another software, to a computer through the LAN
Interconnecting a set of LANs using switches is called Switched LAN
There are several very technical steps an individual must take to set up a LAN Network. These steps can be found on webpages like Mine Craft Forum and Do It Yourself: Set up LAN.
a set of instructions of how to turn on the computer would be considered an algorithm?
Are you sure your on the LAN and the same subnet. Could be a number of things. Though you'll probably find its a security precaution. I use a program on all my LAN's which make each computer invisible to the other. Im assuming your just not getting a ping reply. If this is the case, it could be firewall settings. Ping the ip and ping the name (only if you have reverse dns set-up).
IEEE 802.11 is a set of standards carrying out wireless local area network (WLAN) computer communication in the 2.4, 3.6 and 5 GHz frequency bands. They are created and Maintained by the IEEE LAN/MAN standards committee (IEEE 802).
It depends under which context you intend to create a Lan connection. If you want to have a "Lan party" where you and a bunch of friend all play the same game, then there is no definite answer. You will have to Google "Lan connection <insert game name>". If you are talking about Lan in just a general, networking, like connecting to internet sense, then you need a router and an Ethernet cable. You then connect the Ethernet cable to the router and then to your computer. Or you can set up a Wi-Fi connection with your router. Your question is far too vague, so I cannot give a more straightforward answer. If you would like, you can contact me directly at JasonTheSager@live.com
