The exact locations of all the bomber crash sites is unknown and there are people in Germany and other nations who are searching and digging for bomber planes (and fighter planes). I saw a great show on the history channel or military channel about one of the digs. The townspeople who witnessed a crash dug to get the plane restored and to establish a memorial to the pilot and crew. I have attached an article about the efforts of some who are searching for the crash sites. There are museums and other associations searching for them too.
