Where are maps of Ancient Rome?

If you want to look at maps of ancient Rome, the city itself, or of the entire empire, your best bet would to go to your public library. If your library does not have an atlas of ancient Rome, the librarian can help you to perhaps get one on loan from another library. There are numerous sites on the web with maps of the city itself and the entire empire, but I have found them to be inferior as most of them are in sections and difficult to get a picture of the empire as a whole. The maps on the web that do show the entire empire, too, often do not have place names or else the place names are so small that they're impossible to read. In this case, a library source, with a real book in your hands is a better choice than the web, at least in my opinion.
