If the '02 is in the same place as my '00, it is located in the glove box. Mine has 2 filters side-by-side. Pull the first one out, then slide the other one over to get it out. Installation is just the reverse.
try checking your cabin air filters located inside glovebox. mine were full of leaves causing the same problem.
