Locate the spark plug or plugs. They can be found by following the spark plug wire (a larger black or colored wire leading to the cylinder head). If there is more than one plug, make sure you write down or label each spark plug wire before you take it off. This is important, as on an 8 cylinder engine, you can easily forget which wire goes where.

On a 1998 Ford Expedition : There are ( 8 spark plugs ) for the 4.6 and 5.4 liter V8 engines
HTE SPARK PLUGS ARE IN THE TOP OF THE ENGINE JUST IN THE MIDDLE
Check the Vehicle Emissions Control Information ( VECI ) decal located in the front of your engine compartment ( it will show what type of spark plugs to use and the spark plug gap )
FOLLOW THE SPARK PLUG WIRES TO THE BLOCK. AND YOU WILL FIND YOUR PLUGS. A FEW OF THEM ARE HARD TO CHANGE BUT JUST PERSIST AND YOU'LL BE FINE

you will need a 5/8 spark plugs stocket and a 7mm stocket have fun it not a go job about 5hr. to do just did one Sunday

I Don't Think It Has Wires it has a coil pack on each spark plug ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Only the 4.6L has plugs and wires , plus 2 coil packs. The 5.4L has plugs no wires, plugs 8 coil packs.
those particular wires and plugs are located in the engine compartment under the hood of that Lincoln the spark plugs are located on both sides of the engine block about half way down the wires are connected to the spark plugs and then run all the way to the coil/distributer whatever that particular model has good luck
