take off (4 easy screws) the top cover plate (an embellishment that just tidies up t he appearance of the engine) and discard it. Look for the 4 high tension leads in front of you coming out of that square electronic equivalent of a distributor - mark the leads 1,2,3,4 starting top left (11 oclock position) going clockwise; note that they go onto a long black plastic panel underneath the sweeping intake manifold. At each end of this plastic rail is a 10mm bolt - remove these and pull the panel straight back towards you - it wilolo feel like it's sticky as it is holding all the leads to the plugs; unplug the connections to that electronic distributor block (without wiping out you numbers - these HAVE to go back to the same place) and withdraw the plastic rail from behind the manifold.

Voila - the plugs. You must have a thing walled long plug socket (socket set type plug sockets are too thick) with a universal joint (you don't get a direct line) - Halfords sell a suitable one but it needs the "T" bending back to give enough reach - then it's just fiddly but possible.
