Safari was made by apple and it is a web browser.
Apple has no search engine that they created. They do have a browser called Safari. With Safari you can make almost any search engine the default search engine when you search within the Safari address bar. There is a rumor that Apple is going to create their own search engine but as of 2/2014 it is just a rumor.
Click the name Safari and then Preferences which is what tools is called in Safari.

Macintosh mum is a cyber-helpdesk. when using a Macintosh (apple) computer, simply open safari and type 'Macintosh mum' into the search bar. you should find a link to the apple website with help on everything apple.
I'm pretty sure if you fully close Safari, the bar will dissapear.
The Safari browser is first opened by clicking the compass icon on the Apple toolbar. Safari functions similarly to browsers such as Internet Explorer. The interface requires a mouse to navigate. The top address bar can be clicked in order to specify a website.
