White blood cells circulate around your whole body. There are 5 types of white blood cells in general. Monocytes, Lymphocytes, Neutrophils, Basophils, Eosinophils, with each bearing a specific function. Most help in the body's defense against foreign organisms like fungi, bacteria, viruses etc. When the skin barrier gets compromised and bacteria enters the blood stream, these WBCs will be activated, calling other WBCs to come to the infected area to ingest the bacteria, killing it.

Red blood cells are found in the blood stream. They are synthesized in the bone marrow via a process called erythropoesis, regulated by erythropoietin. After being synthesized, they undergo a 5stage maturation process to mature to become the small biconcave RBC that we see very often
