Molluscum contagiosum usually goes away on it's own, but there are medications, similar to those used on warts, that can help as well. They can also be removed by surgery.

What is the best diet to prevent Molluscum Contagiosum?

Molluscum Contagiosum can be treated by changing diet to include more fruits and vegetables. Curettage (scraping them) or freezing them can be done by a doctor or applying wart removers can help them go away, though they typically go away on their own in a few months.

Can I cure Molluscum Contagiosum by changing my diet?

Molluscum Contagiosm does not normally last for more than a year or eighteen months. If the problem persists, or you suffer from a weakened immune system, a healthy diet would help your body to deal with the spots but it would not necessarily cure it.

What is muscollum?

Within each "colony" or patch, one or two lesions will develop into the large, discrete, red, angry stage three lesions, and it is these lesions that seem to control the others within the area. Sometimes we call these master lesions "mothers" or "queen bee" lesions. You must get rid of these particular lesions specifically in order to be free of the molluscum contagiosum outbreak. If one of these mature "mother" lesions are on the scalp and covered with hair, it can make things even more difficult. Many times molluscum contagiosum virus takes hold in skin already affected by psoriasis or eczema. These skin lesions can itch, causing the host (patient) to scratch them, thereby facilitating the molluscum's spread. Molluscum contagiosum is caused by a pox virus. Molluscum contagiosum is only a skin condition. It is not systemic, so pills cannot help. It spreads by physical contact. Parents are likely to notice that an initial outbreak on the inner thigh of a child soon spreads to the mirror image area of the other leg where one leg contacts the other while sleeping. Once you stop the infection it is unlikely to come back unless the patient comes into contact with it again.

Can you spread molluscum contagiosum without sexual contact?

Without research it is difficult to answer. Your Doctor should be the best place to get answers on skin disorders. If not then try a charity or organisation that helps sufferers.See the related question below for more information.

Does apple cider cure molluscum contagiosum?

It is never that simple. That said I applied it directly just to the spots and it killed them quickly. First, the mature molluscum contagious spots might swell slightly, but they will then get a small scab in the center and fade away. I tried the apple cider vinegar first. It would not get all the spots and it seemed to allow it to spread. The one spot I tried would be gone, but 4 more would show up where to cotton swab had touched. Also, it hurt and left but scabs that might scar. The most common treatments for molluscum contagiosum are astringent chemicals, surgery, and dye lasers.

Where can I ind images of molluscum contagiosum?

www.molluscumcontagiosumpictures.org is a good site containing images of this condition. Comparing your rash to these images would be a good way of diagnosing yourself, but a better idea would be to see your GP in case it's something more serious.

After son was treated for molluscum contagiosum at age 6months in top of his head by freezing method he lost his hair in several spots at age 17 could this hair loss come from treatment?

Cryotherapy causes scarring in some cases. It seems that if scarring affected the hair follicles in that area, you'd have noticed before seventeen years passed. Another cause is more likely.
