well roughly the method i use is to calculate the load the meter is going to supply. for example if say the load is 5amps i have to choose a meter with a slightly higher rating say 8 amps. another method used is to obtain the rating of the generator that supplies these loads and basing the meters rating on that. apply the formula P=VI for single phase and P=1.33VI for three phase. you will have p the power and v the voltage now calculate the current with simple amthematics. the meter rating should be slightly higher than this. ok hope that helps bob Munabi Umeme Uganda
