Yes, the DSi does not have enough memory storage to have flash player downloaded onto it, and most games and video players; including YouTube run on flash. The soultion to this problem is that the DSi can play javascript material instead.
However, it's important to keep in mind that the DSi has several limitations related to Javascript gaming. The limited memory restricts the ability to swap images, bugs in the canvas implementation prevent image drawing, the screen scrolls on swipe, and most of the buttons do not register correctly. The end result is that very few existing Javascript games work correctly on the DSi.
This has led to the creation of a few websites for DSi-focused gaming/entertainment.
