Depending on the year you are asking about, there are a few places you can go to get good information about the Subara WRX STI. For a 2010 model the best place to go would be the corporate site itself http://www.subaru.com/vehicles/impreza-wrx/sti/features-specs.html. For older years or to see different years side by side I would go to the Wikipedia entry at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subaru_Impreza_WRX_STI.
wrx
Yes, although all four wheels must be either rolling or stationary on a flatbed. Failure to do so will result in damaged differentials.
There is a company in Australia that has designed a supercharger for the 2.5 Rs (ej253). It makes the Rs equal to the wrx. But that's really all youll get out of the ej253. It doesn't handle more that 6psi well and the block doesn't have the same cooling as an wrx/sti block. To rebuild it with all the parts would be a waste when you can find an wrx/sti engine block for the price you would pay building up an ej253.
One can find and purchase an used Imprezza WRX STI in online trading websites such as eBay, Subaru, Trade Car View, Buyer's Guide, Road and Track or Gum Tree.
