For the widest variety and probably the best prices, I would look at Amazon's selection of food slicers first. Try Cooking.com if you are looking for more professional models. Walmart.com also has a few models for the budget-conscious.
There are a number of online websites where one can purchase an electrical meat slicer. Some of these websites include Walmart, Sears, Best Buy, Amazon and Bed Bath & Beyond.
A meat slicer can be bought in most larger High Street hardware stores. However, if one prefers to shop online, one can buy a meat slicer via Amazon's website.
I have one and they were out of Chicago Ill.
A vegetable slicer can be bought at any department store such as Target or Sears, or at any store that sells home goods. Even hardware stores sell them, although the quality and price may not be as good.
You can purchase a V Slicer online at stores such as Bed Bath and Beyond and Walmart. You can also purchase V-Slicers from Amazon or used from eBay and Craigslist.
There isn't really such a thing as a 'standard' electric meat slicer. All meat slicers range in price depending on exactly what you are looking for. One really good meat slicer that is also very efficient is the Chef's Choice 610 Preminum Electric Food Slicer. The starting price is about $100 for this one.
One can purchase a mandolin slicer from home stores such as Bed, Bath and Beyond and Home Outfitters. There are also available at box stores such as Walmart and Target.
Yes there are many job job promotions for a vet. My favorite one is the meat slicer. Once you become a vet you can work you way up to a meat slicer. All you do is take a huge chunck of raw meat and slicer it up into individual steaks. Its a great job, because when no one is looking, you can snach a couple of steak for you and your family.
I see no reason not to use a mandolin slicer for any suitable food...bread, meat, cheese, etc. However, you may want to make sure your mandolin is dishwasher safe and wash it thoroughly if it has been used to cut raw meat (or have a separate one for meat).
A Joyce Chen Spiral Slicer can be bought at a number of online retailers. It can be bought at the Cutlery and More website or at the Ultimate Nourishment site or at Amazon.
You can definately make your own bacon from home, along with sliced deli meats and so forth with a meat slicer. They run for about $150 for a small one, but I think it would be a worthwhile investment. Look here for a relatively good price on one: http://www.amazon.com/Weston-9-Meat-Slicer/dp/B003H97RXO.

If you want to purchase one to use at home, you could end up paying under $100. This depends on the brand and where you buy it, it could always be more expensive.
