I think it would be best to just support her and buy the books, either by ordering them online or going to a local bookstore. Either that or you could check them out at a library or borrow them from a friend.

The sequel is Mastiff (was previously going to be called Elkhound), and it comes out sometime in 2011. I read somewhere that it's supposed to be October, but Tamora Pierce's website hasn't said that yet.
I read it when I was about 12.... And I have a friend who was even younger, but it's a book that can be enjoyed by someone of almost any age.
In the Hand of the Goddess is a fantasy novel by Tamora Pierce. It is the second in her series The Song of the Lioness. It is still under copyright laws so the only place to read it for free is on library loan.
