The ALT codes for symbols can be created using various key combinations. Specific key combinations can be found by viewing symbol settings.

By using Alt codes on Windows you can enter any symbol or foreign accented letter. Alt codes are utilised by holding down the ALT key while entering the corresponding numerals, then releasing the ALT key. Note that you must use the number key pad on the right, it does not work with the numbers up top above the letters. German umlauts are as follows. Ä is ALT 0196 ä is ALT 0228 Ö is ALT 0214 ö is ALT 0246 Ü is ALT 0220 ü is ALT 0252 Also commonly used in German language is ß which is ALT 0223

The problem is not with the printer ... it is only doing what it has been commanded to do from the PC or MAC. Could be that your printer settings need to be looked at.
