If a Chevy dealer has the VIN, they can make a new key. We needed a new key for my son's Olds and that's what they needed.
AnswerGEO is Japanese but sold by GM. Check the owner's manual in case a nice salesman wrote it down, usually 4 digits. Or, if you are the original owner, the dealer will have it on file. I have been in many dealer offices, and many of them keep a third key in the file in case they have to repo the car. The original dealer's name may also be stamped on manual - investigate - otherwise give VIN# to dealer or locksmith, compare prices, and get it done, but write the key code down once you find out what it is.
Hyundai dealers should be able to give the key code if you provide the Vehicle Identification Number and proof of ownership.
There is not a key code on the ford cylinders anymore. A locksmith can( with the proper tools ) decode the locks.and make a new key. The ford is actually a two part key, it is ten cut with 6cuts in the door and 6 in the ign lock. some cuts are shared between the two. the door cyl can be removed, decoded and then tryout keys (based on the results of the door keys) can be used to determine the ign key. If it is a chip key, special equipment is used to program the new transponder to work with the security system. Call a Locksmith and have him repair it. To find a compitent locksmith go to Clearstar.com ( a locksmith site ) Hope this helps! Former locksmith Since 1987

AnswerThe key code is with the computer, and you'll need to have to go to a local Ford dealership. They'll give you the code,a nd you can go ahead and order a new key for your car. Or, get your code changes and new keys. Take it to a dealer are you joking.Take off the drivers side door panel. Most are held on with clips that push into a round hole. Look for a few screws, Remove them then you can get to where the key lock assembly is. Pop off the horseshoe ring holding into the door.Take the lock assembly to a locksmith or you can bring the whole van to him and still be cheaper than those dealerships that want a body part.,
