My 9lb. cat received one tab of Droncit on Wednesday. My vet advised that I might see nothing come out or a scary amount. The following Monday the cat passed a small amount.
Panacur. You can buy it in lots of pet stores, but it is better to get it from your vet. One gallon of Panacur is $400 and you can just get what you need from the vet. It is given for 3 days, and it is $5-$10. Panacur gets rid of tapes, hooks, rounds, and whips.
Use aquarium salt to treat ulcers and a product that contains an anti bacterial medication. Both of these products are available at your local pet store. Parasitic flukes can cause ulcers and the treatment, Droncit is expensive but there are also commercial products that contain Praziquantel that kills flukes. Try the first treatment before treating for flukes.
I think your cat has tape worms. Segments of the tape resembling rice can be found on the "britches" of a cat and can be left in litter boxes and bedding. It is imperative that you take your cat to your veterinarian immediately, who may prescribe Droncit. Your veterinarian may give the cat an injection which may need to be repeated. I do NOT recommend that you treat this condition on your own with pet and grocery store products. Nikki, the "cat whisperer" in NW Ohio
