Can you put an amd s1g1 socket CPU into an s1g2 socket aka replace a sempron si42 with a turion tl62 i have browsed tons of forums some people say yes others say no?
No, you cannot. I've tried it myself. Not a single s1 CPU is
compatible / backward compitable with any other s1 socket. So, in
your case... a s1g1 socket CPU will not function in a s1g2 mobo.
For a s1g2 mobo, a better (dual) core CPU would be a turion x2
ultra zm serie, a turion x2 rm serie or an athlon x2 Ql serie. I
used a si-40 sempron with 25 watts tdp. Now I'm running a rm 72
with 35 watts tdp. Temps are not an issue. The CPU is runing a
little under or over 50 degrees celsius.
