If this is the 93 Grandprix with the 3.1 eng. the Knock sensor is located just under the manifold back next to the fire wall you can see it from the bottom. It's hard to get to if you have small hands you can touch it from the bottom. However it is much easer to let the eng. cool down lean over the eng. close to the front of the eng. if you can get your hand and arm back there it is much easer to remove and replace from that point. I know I did one from the bottom it took 1.5 hours from the top it less than 15 minutes.

If the 3.8 is like all other newer "V" model GM engines, the knock sensors are most likely under the intake.
You can find a 1996 Nissan Pathfinder knock sensor picture in most auto repair manuals. Most Nissan dealerships repair centers will provide you with a picture of the sensor.
On my 99 Grand Prix 3.8 it's located below the rear exaust manifold on the engine block.
