There are some things that are lying around runescape like small fishing nets by the fishing tutor and bronze axes that you can just pick up. other than that you could try asking people for free stuff although that usually doesnt work.

∙ 14y agoThe holiday events usually take place two weeks before the day of the holiday and two weeks after in order to allow other players the chance to complete the fun quests and gain the event items for the event. Jagex will usually let you know when a holiday event is going to occur by putting up an announcement that you will see on the noticeboard if you go to RuneScape's main page.
In this time, there are many rare awards that can be gained from participating and completing the events such as rare holiday items that cannot be bought, sold, or traded between characters.
