It seems that at one time, everyone in Belgium either made waffles or guns- the small maker of guns was everywhere. I have seen the name Cowboy Ranger used from the Pre- WW I era up until the 1960s by different makers, so getting an exact date for your gun is likely a lost cause. CTGS is not a model, it is the abbreviation for cartridges- as in 45 Colt CTGS. Sorry-
It appears to be a factory serial # on the butt, it is chrome with 3.5 " barrel, it has black grips with the S&W on them and I can't make out whether it has the S&W engraved on the side of the frame
No published sn data. 10-50 USD
Secret Service SpecialNeat gun but not made by S&W or used by the Secret Service. It was made by Iver Johnson Arms & Cycle Works of Fitchburg,Mass. The 6 diget number is probably the serial number. CTG refers to the caliber such as 32 S&W cartridge."ctg" being an abbreviation. Made prior to WWII. actually there is a secret service special 32 s&w ctgs my serial #168757 and i have iver ja&cw of fitchburg, mass serial #47536 location of serial #'s of both are the buttend of the handle
Would need the other markings on the gun to properly ID it.
Blue Book of Gun values is a place to start.
