Iver Johnson revolvers can be hard to properly identify. Need to know if it has a swingout cylinder (Model 1900) or is a break open design. The complete serial number is generally found under the left grip panel and will have a letter prefix. Also, need to know the patent dates marked on the gun and where they are located. sales@countrygunsmith.net

If a Western Field 12 gauge does not have a model number but does have some numbers on the bottom of the trigger how do you find information about it?

Start by telling us everything that IS marked on the gun. Those numbers may be a Montgomery Ward model number which will probably cross-reference to a manufacturer's model.

Where can you find information about a 20 gauge Stevens Model 530 double barrel marked with 14C in a circle by the trigger guard and Savage Arms Chicopee Falls Mass and a bird dog engraving?

The Blue Book says the No 530 was made from 1936 to 1942, but the 14C indicates manufacture in 1951.
