There are a couple of reasons why a 1993 Jeep Wrangler tail and brake lights may not work. The light bulbs may be blown or a fuse may need replaced.
I am thinking you mean the light that says brake on the dash, check you parking brake handle, if it is not going down all the way it will come on, also there is a switch there to detect the brake handle, this may need adjustment. Secondly, the brake fluid reservoir will trigger this light when the fluid is low.
check the play in your rear brake lever, may be too tight and activating the brake light switch. or the front brake lever may be depressing the switch in the control housing. or you have a bad switch. or, when you rewired it, after installing that cool skull tail light, you got the running light wire and the brake light wire backwards. Check grounds! Trace the ground wire from each brake light socket. If that doesn't work, i hate to say it, but you may have to take it into the shop.
Check the emergancy brake cable- as it starts to wear, it stretches & leaves slack in the cable. There should be an adjustment to remove this slack. The tension in the cable pulls the lever to not make the switch for the brake light come on.
