Absolutely nothing when it comes to crafting. However, you can build a quick and easily breakable shelter over the night with dirt, some designs may require the dirt color, make some pixel art, and even out the ground. I'm sure there are more uses!

Burn things, set up a mob trap, set up a cobblestone farm, use as fuel in a furnace, or make interesting house lighting system ;)
