The first thing to do is to check the connections at the back to the head unit that is on the dashboard if all the speakers are affected.
I have checked a lot of forums and it appears that this is a typical symptom when the speakers themselves are shot. I never knew a speaker would work/not work when bad, but that is apparently just what these do. Have read dozens of responses all indicating replacing the speakers corrected the issue.
Your local Wal-mart has plenty of them.
the same way big speakers work
You are able to use mp3 player speakers with your IPOD. You need to make sure they are universal, which most are. Some people find that IPOD speakers do produce better sound quality with your IPOD.
Any set of good speakers will work great with an Ipod. It's only a source. If your speakers work well with your stereo they'll be great with an Ipod.

after replacing the drivers side the speakers still worked but after replacing the passenger side none of my speakers work
Any set of speakers that have the Apple Connector will work. You can also find adapters that will allow your iPod to connect to potentially any Bose Speaker on the market.
If Bose brand speakers do not work outside perhaps they are too far away from the source. Bose outside speakers also require Wi-Fi or Bluetooth for them to work properly.
because the speakers aren't working
put new speakers in
Well I had my MP3 player plugged into some computer speakers and it didn't die, this was the same plug you find on headphones and earphones, so if it fits it should work. It probably won't work with stereo speakers but I haven't tested that yet.
