What is the scanner frequency for Denton Tx police?
There is no single frequency for Denton City PD. The Denton City PD uses a talkgroup on a trunked radio system (0B12 is the system ID, 105.88 is the connect tone, control channels 857.31250, 858.31250, 859.31250, and 860.31250 MHz) shared by the city (shared with fire, waste, city management, water, TWU, UNT, etc) and there are multiple trunked frequencies. If you want to monitor them (and if it's legal for you to do so), you will need a radio scanner capable of following trunked systems and capable of reception in the 800-MHz public safety band. The system is a Motorola Type-II SmartNet. I don't know if the city is going to go digital (many scanners especially trunking scanners will do digital) or possibly APCO-25 (you need an expensive scanner to decode APCO-25). What type of police scanner is needed for Long Beach CA?
I believe a digital or an analog scanner should work just fine for the city of Long Beach. Other cities that are capable of being listened to from the Long Beach area can be a different story however. For the Los Angeles Police Department they now use digital APCO codes so a digital scanner capable of decoding the APCO codes is necessary to listen to just about any LAPD traffic. Orange county for police and fire as well as some other traffic now uses digitally encrypted communications so no commercially sold equipment is sold to pick up those encrypted frequencies. As far as trunking a scanner that is capable of being programmed for different trunking systems would be needed for listening to networks that use this type of communications system. Basically most services that use the air waves to communicate can be picked up on almost any type of scanner. At least in recent memory. However at some point in time cities in Los Angeles may decide to upgrade their systems.
