The PCV Valve is usually located on the valve cove, driver or passenger side, towards the front of the car.
It is in the valve cover.

For the 305 (LO3), the PCV valve is located on the driver's side valve cover. It's held in place with a rubber grommet.
It should be on top of the valve cover on the driver side right where you add oil. The oil cap is at the end of the valve cover towards the back of the engine and the pcv valve is on the same valve cover but towards the front of the engine. It sticks out of the valve cover just like the the oil cap does. I have the exact same year and model car as you and that's where mine is located at.
On the passenger side valve cover. Should have a black hose coming from it to the throttle boday

You can find the PCV valve, on the outside of the air cleaner housing. The PCV valve will be attached to the back of the housing.
You can find the PCV valve for your 1987 Nissan on top of the engine. The PCV valve will be near the air filter housing.
You can find the PCV valve for your 1997 Mitsubishi Montero on top of the engine. The PCV valve will be in front of the air cleaner housing.
The PCV valve is located in the rocker cover on the passenger side of the engine.
