If you are pretty handy with tools and have a basic understanding of DC electrical systems, installing a GPS on your boat shouldn't be too difficult.
Navigation was a factory option.
The Mercedes GPS navigation does require an installation cd. From what I read its a waste of money because they usually don't work. It looks like its cheaper to buy your own GPS.

Most laptop GPS systems are USB based. It's easier than installing an internal gps.

CD GPS systems can, in fact, be bought online. The only problem with buying them online, is installation. This can be difficult and may result in damage to the system if not handled properly.
Contact the company that your GPS comes from. You can find their number listed on their website. They will be able to to tell you where to find the necessary items to update your GPS.

Sam AD can be installed with and without CD. if you are installing AD on 2003 or 2000 server. you will need the CD. And if you are installing AD on 2008 you don't have to..jus type the command "dcpromo" and continue from there.
The cost of installing a CD changer in a BMW will be the cost of hourly labor multiplied by the number of hours as defined by the installer which typically turns out to $200. One may save money by installing the changer themselves.
