put key in door like your unlocking it
Unlock the driver's door using the BLACK key (not the green one).
You'll find that the key goes into a keyhole hidden in the Chrome "XK8" badge on the rear panel. Between the k and the 8 if I recall.
Valet mode disables the electric trunk release and the "home link functions" for security reasons when valet parking. The "valet key" will not open the trunk
thr key fits in the 8 of the xk8 emblem in the passenger side rear.
hi there, i though ill help a little , and not just ask and wait for answers . myself i have a xk8 - 4.l - 1997 model, i had the same problem. the solution is to take it to an aproved jaguar dealer , is not expensive to reprogram , or reset. mine waz around 25 quid, maybe i waz lucky. also..have u checked the batteries? if they r the rite ones? regards cr4zy_jaguar
Use the black key that you have to open the truck, it overrides the Valet Mode. The key goes in a hole that is between the X and the K on the enblem on the rear of the car.
What do you mean by "valet mode"? If you mean the trunk release button won't work, there's a valet switch inside the glove compartment that activates and deactivates it. Just turn it off. OR You use the black key in the trunk keyhole which is located in the xk8 emblem. The Keyhole is located between the x and k. That should take it of valet mode.
Programing a remote key on a jaguar s type has to be done by a jaguar service center. Only authorized technicians should do it because often, people end up spoiling the remote system when they program it on their own.
Put the key in the driver door lock, turn clock-wise and hold to lower top; counter-clockwise and hold to raise top. Chimes will sound when the operation is complete.
There is a key hole between the X and K on the rear XK8 emblem.
put the ignition key in the little hole in the xk8 emblem on the trunk lid and turn it. works like a regular key lock trunk
