If you have your ears pierced and you leave them out a long time they will. This is reversible of course, but it involves alot of pain putting you earring in. Remember when you have your earrings in a long period of time always rotate your earrings.

Yes you can. I've had my cartilage pierced for 7 years and all I wear are regular earlobe studs. I even wear earlobe dangle earrings in my cartliage sometimes and its fine. No stretching or anything.
It typically takes 8-12 weeks for a cartilage piercing to heal. But you should never go more than a few hours without any type of jewelry, those piercings typically close pretty fast.
