Where could antifreeze be leaking from above the water pump and its not the top radiator hose 1997 dodge van 360 engine?

It is most likely the thermostat housing gasket or the bypass hose that runs from the water pump to the intake manifold.

Doubtful !... The antifreeze is added to the radiator - to keep the water above freezing point. There is no way of the engine knowing how much antifreeze is circulating.

Really need to know the year and engine size. But you can check this, Does your engine have 2 lines just above the oil filter that run up the side of the engine and goes into the radiator on the drivers side ? If so then that is the engine oil cooler lines and the tubes in the radiator were the oil flows through to cool the oil are probley leaking into the radiator coolant. IT happens often. WILL NEED TO REPLACE RADIATOR. And flush out the cooling system real GOOD. Did your engine freeze from lack of antifreeze ? If the radiator fluid is cheery red looking then the transmission cooler that is built into the radiator is leaking. REPLACE RADIATOR. GOOD LUCK.

If it is a pink color then the Transmission cooler is bad in the radiator, If it is oil for sure then the engine oil cooler that's in the radiator may be leaking oil into the radiator. This could be antifreeze, but very importantly it could also be BRAKE FLUID, which is yellow when brand new and then turns a muddy red after about a year. Either way, it should be checked as to 1.) location of leak (under engine near front of car, it's probably antifreeze OR at each wheel or the back of the car more likely to be brake fluid) 2.) engine temperature (is the car running hot? probably antifreeze; and 3.) braking (do the brakes feel 'spongy', then it's brake fluid.) Don't wait til it gets worst, diagnose using the above or bring to a mechanic. If it continues and it's ignored you will either seize your engine (if it's leaking antifreeze) or lose your brakes!

Gregory, to get at that drain bolt you have to get under your car. It is located slightly above the oil filter. I am planning on changing my radiator and will be doing this as well. Good luck.

Water pump leak oil in radiator?
You did not say what you are working on, YEAR AND ENGINE SIZE. But in most cases or designs the water pump can not leak oil into the coolant. The water pump has nothing to do with the engine oil. Does the engine have a engine oil cooler on it ? That would be 2 oil lines just above the oil filter that runs down the side of the engine oil pan a go to the radiator. There are tubes inside of the radiator that oil flows through and they are none to leak oil into the engine coolant that's inside of the RADIATOR. If they are leaking then REPLACE RADIATOR. BUT like I said I don't know what you are working on. Would like to help you with your problem, But need more INFO. NEUTZ.
