I was so excited that I was able to book a hotel on the famous Bourbon Street. It was so nice to stay right in the heart of New Orleans. All we had to do was walk out of our hotel, and we were right in the heart of all the action. We barely needed the car during our stay in New Orleans. We were able to walk almost every where we wanted to go. With such a great location, our cab was able to find our hotel easily. When we walked into the hotel we immediately were impressed by how elegant the hotel felt. There was a beautiful fountain in the entrance to the hotel under a very detailed chandler. The concierge was very helpful. Any time we needed help, they were able to help us out. Part of what made our visit to New Orleans so enjoyable is that we always felt like we knew where to go, and a large part of that was our excellent concierge. They provided us with maps and information that made our visit so memorable.Our room was awesome. It was so clean. I rarely walk into a room and feel like I wish this was my bedroom instead of the one I have at home. I felt that way when I walked into my room at the Royal Sonesta Hotel. I wished I could transport the room their into my home. The bed felt so comfortable and soft, and the pillows were beyond comfortable. I really enjoyed the high end bath products and soaps that they had available. I enjoyed my very leisurely bath in the large tub in my room.On top of taking in all the best sites on Bourbon Street, we were also able to enjoy the outside pool. It was located off the third or fourth floor; I can't remember which one. It overlooked the hotel courtyard. I was really impressed that they even offered drink services at the hotel. They also had food available at the bar and grill on the pool deck. It really felt like we were relaxing in luxury at a resort in the Caribbean. I am so glad that I was able to book the Sonesta; it was really worth the price I paid.
