Abraham Lincoln was origanally from Kentucky. at a young age, he and his family moved from Kentucky to somewhere in Illinois. a couple years later, they moved again and settled in springfield, Illinois.Yes, Abraham Lincoln was born in Kentucky, near Owensboro, and MOVED to Indiana in his younger years. I believe he was nine and I believe the name of the town was New Salem. He didn't move to Illinois until he was 21 years of age. Why Illinois believes it is the land of Lincoln is beyond me. They could call themselves the land of Grant but he was born and raised in Ohio.

Jefferson Davis and Abraham Lincoln were born in the southern state of Kentucky. The Lincoln family would eventually move and settle in Illinois. The Davis family would eventually move and settle in Mississippi.
In 1811, when Abraham was about 2, the Lincolns moved to another cabin on Knob Creek, in Kentucky, also near Hodgenville. Knob Creek was located about 2-3 miles from Abraham's birthplace, Sinking Spring farm, on Nolin Creek.
Abraham Lincoln's parents were very much against slavery. At one point they were willing to move from Kentucky to a state which did not practice slavery.
