There are two different Athenas - one in Greek Mythology, the other a bad adaptation by Disney studiios for the Mother of Ariel. The traditional Athena hails from Athens and is, of course the Patroness of the City. She wears warlike armor and such but is NOT an Amazon, nor is she Minerva, Roman Goddess of Military intelligence. Athena is NOt in any sense a Marine goddess, I am surprised the Disney people are so ill-informed on Greek Mythology. Methinks they should study some Wonder Woman.

Who made Medusa ugly?

Athena, the Greek goddess of wisdom, did because Medusa said she was prettier than Athena (Medusa used to be beautiful), so Athena punished her with ugliness. Another version of this myth is that Medusa was a lover of Poseidon and Athena was a little jealous (though she was a virgin goddess). When they went to her temple together, Athena was insulted and made Medusa and her two sisters hideous.

Did Athena have a leopard and a owl as companions?

Athena, the goddess of wisdom, courage, inspiration, civilization, warfare, strength, strategy, female arts, crafts, justice and skill is often accompanied by a Little Owl (Athene noctua). This little guy was so popular he made it onto the Athenian currency, the silver tetradrachm, in 2 BC. Alas, I have not heard of Athena having a Leopard companion.

What turns Arcahne into a spider?

Arachne challenges Athena to a weaving competition. Athena sees that Archane's weacving is just as good as hers. Athena makes Arcahne feel so guilty and ashamed (by pressing her fingers to Arachne's forehead) that Arcahne hangs herself. While dying, Athena takes a little pity and turns Archane into a spider in which she can weave forever in peace.
