Nepal I think although it might be India

Because:

Gautam Buddha (Known also as Siddhartha Gautam was was born in kapilavasthu which is in Lumbini in Nepal. He was born there and to get more knowledge on why people suffer and die, Buddha went to a tree in India where he got his knowledge on all his questions and he started sharing his knowledge to people like us.

So I am not totally sure whether Buddhism originated In India or Nepal???
