In the mid-1500's, England was still a minor Kingdom at the edge of European civilization. They had been fighting France in the hundred years before with all the ensuing casualties of war, but no 'massacres' there - and certainly none that 'foreshadowed' later actions in North America. The other wars the Engish fought in the 1500's were usually against the Scots but no 'war crimes' there, at least not by the standards of the time.

The treatment of North American Indians by the English was not marked by any massacres either. Indians suffered most if not all at the hands of American colonists and the American army and Government.
