Because the Germans invaded Russia
Russia has a much larger military. Russia.
Probably Russia, then France
Germany, France, Britain, Russia
No. It was Germany, Italy, and Japan. Against America, Britain, and Russia. These are just the major powers. There were other smaller countries on both sides.
Josef Stalin of Russia
Mostly at the border of Germany/Russia. Germany came far into Russia's territory, but Russia was able to push them back. An example of a battle that took place would be the Battle of Stalingrad.
Germany hopes to have a empire and navy to compete with Britain and its fears is that russia and France might want to fight Germany
Because they had declared war on Austria-Hungary, and Germany had responded by declaring war on Russia... so Russia was at war with both of those countries. Mobilizing is when a country starts building armies and getting ready to fight a war- it can take a lot of time to do. When World War I started in summer of 1914, Russia was a very large but somewhat backwards country, so it took even longer for them to mobilize fully and then get their armies over to fight against Germany. That gave Germany time to attack France and try to defeat them before Russia was truly ready to fight- however, Germany failed to defeat France and was forced to fight both countries at the same time.
They didn't - Italy and Germany were allies. Together, they made up the Axis powers in WW2. Germany originally had a Non-Aggression pact with the Soviet Union (Russia), but in 1941, Germany invaded Russia, so Russia officially joined the Ally powers (USA, Great Britain, France, etc.)
Germany signed a Non-Aggression act with The Russia Federation, or Russia. The act meant that the two countries would never fight or partake in war against each other. However it was violated by Germany when they attacked Russia in World War II.
Based on the deal that Germany made with Lenin, he would pull Russia out of WW 1 if he came to power. He did and this allowed the Germans to basically only fight on the Western Front.
